The Democratic Republic of the Congo's prominent opposition politician Moise Katumbi announced that members of the opposition coalition C64 intend to travel to Goma, eastern Congo, to meet former President Joseph Kabila, who now leads the militant Front for the Refoundation of the Nation , or FRN, Jeune Afrique reported on Nov. 4. Katumbi argues that excluding Kabila and armed groups from a national dialogue would undermine efforts to reach a political settlement, particularly as the Congolese government is reportedly already negotiating with the FRN in Doha, Qatar.
