Yisrael Beitenu chairman Avigdor Lieberman said he would recommend Yashar! party chair Gadi Eisenkot to be the next prime minister , a notable step toward assembling an opposition coalition before President Isaac Herzog tasks a party leader with forming a government in the coming days. Meanwhile, on Nov. 1, a spokesperson for the Israeli Arab party Joint List said it and the Islamist Ra'am party would recommend Eisenkot for prime minister, though Joint List continued to suggest it would do so as a supply vote, not as part of the government.
