The Syrian foreign ministry summoned Jordan's ambassador to Syria on Oct. 28 and lodged a formal protest after Jordanian airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria killed several civilians on Oct. 26, Syria's official news agency reported. Earlier on Oct. 28, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi agreed to form a joint committee to investigate the incident, and the countries reopened the Nasib border crossing, which had temporarily closed after the strikes.
