The U.S. Trump administration is considering removing sanctions on the Russian Direct Investment Fund, or RDIF, which has sought relief while helping arrange Russian diesel shipments to the United States, The New York Times reported on Oct. 27. Washington and Moscow were also reportedly discussing potential postwar energy deals, including renewed U.S. participation in Russia's Sakhalin-1 oil project, Russian oil deliveries to Europe through the Druzhba pipeline and cooperation on liquefied natural gas projects.
