Kenyan opposition parties are working on a draft coalition framework, with plans to agree on a "final map of zoned seats" for Kenya's August 2027 general election by February and deposit an opposition coalition agreement to Kenya's Office of the Registrar of Political Parties by the end of March, Daily Nation reported on Oct. 28 after seeing a copy of the draft. This comes after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who leads the opposition Democracy for the Citizens Party, held talks with opposition Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Oct. 26, with both figures stating their commitment to supporting a single opposition presidential flagbearer against President William Ruto.
