Two sources close to the Ethiopian military confirmed social media reports that pro-government forces had captured Tigray People's Liberation Front, or TPLF, military commander Maj. Gen. Yohannes Woldegiorgis, known as John Medid, in northern Tigray's Rama district area near the Eritrean border, BBC Amharic reported on Oct. 26. According to one source, Medid has since been transported to the neighboring city of Adwa.
