Tunisian police cracked down on protesters in Ettadhamen, a suburb of Tunis, and deployed tear gas against them, Reuters reported on Oct. 22. There have also been clashes between police and protesters farther south, in Jebeniana and in Agareb, a town in the central Sfax governorate.
