Meta's Oversight Board criticized the company's operations involving Brazil's elections in a statement released on Oct. 20. In a response to an order from Brazil's Superior Electoral Court, Meta said on the same day that it had complied with a ruling to treat both presidential candidates equally following reports that its apps favored right-wing challenger Flavio Bolsonaro over leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
