U.S. President Donald Trump said in an Oct. 18 Truth Social post that he was backing incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection in Israel's Oct. 27 general election , calling Netanyahu a "warrior" and an important partner against Iran. Trump also suggested that a change in Israeli leadership might change U.S. policy toward Israel, saying, "If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so."
