The Ethiopian military seized the Tigrayan town of Zalambessa, located along the international border with Eritrea, Reuters reported on Oct. 13, and conflict-monitoring platform ACLED reported the same day that local residents saw pro-government forces deploy tanks and heavy artillery to the town. This comes as open-source reports indicate that the Ethiopian military and the allied Tigray Peace Force have continued to make progress against the Tigray People's Liberation Front, or TPLF, in recent days, allegedly capturing the town of Adi Hageray on Oct. 13 and advancing toward the town of Sheraro in northwestern Tigray.
