The Ethiopian military and the allied Tigray Peace Force, or TPF, entered Adigrat without a fight after the rebel Tigray People's Liberation Front, or TPLF, withdrew from the city, Reuters reported on Oct. 10. Unconfirmed reports indicate that pro-government forces subsequently recaptured the town of Zalambessa on Oct. 11 near the Ethiopia-Eritrea border and that TPLF fighters had withdrawn from the cities of Adwa and Axum, with some TPLF forces allegedly crossing the border into Eritrean territory.
