South Korea's foreign ministry announced on Oct. 8 that it would recall the country's ambassador to Ukraine, Park Ki-chang, adding it hoped to resolve issues with Kyiv smoothly and would continue consultations. This comes days after Seoul rejected an alleged backroom apology by the Ukrainian government over President Volodymyr Zelensky's Sept. 23 announcement to the U.N. General Assembly that Kyiv had transferred two North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea.
