U.S. presidential adviser Massad Boulos met with Sudanese Armed Forces, or SAF, leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and reaffirmed the United States' commitment to Sudan's territorial integrity and to finding a political solution to Sudan's civil war, Boulos said in an Oct. 5 X post. This comes as the rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, and its allies have seemingly opened a new front in the southeastern Blue Nile state's Wad al-Mahi district north of the Blue Nile River, and claimed to have seized the locality of Al-Kadalou on Oct. 4, located 60 kilometers (37 miles) to the east of the regional capital Ad-Damazin.
