Romania's Parliament rejected the minority Cabinet of Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Muresan, backed by the National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR) and Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), Romania Insider reported on Sept. 30. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) voted against Muresan's government, reiterating its claim to the premiership, and the far-right Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) also voted against it and threatened to seek President Nicusor Dan's impeachment if he refused to call early elections.
