The chair of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, or LDP, pledged to submit a report about revising the number of parliamentary seats to the speaker of the house by the end of October, Kyodo News reported on Sept. 30. This is later than the previous goal of submitting the report by the end of September.
