Ethiopian army chief Field Marshal Birhanu Jula said the Ethiopian government was responding with "wisdom and restraint" to the ongoing military escalation with the Tigray People's Liberation Front, or TPLF, and slammed Eritrea for supporting antigovernment forces in the country, Al Jazeera reported on Sept. 27. This comes as conflict-monitoring platform ACLED reported that progovernment forces have seized the town of Alamata in southern Tigray, while a humanitarian source quoted by Euronews said TPLF forces and their allies seized the town of Erebti.
