The United States and Iran are discussing a potential phased deal under which Iran could allow shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported on Sept. 24. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his mediators submitted a plan to "open" the strait within seven days, though Iranian media has reported on several Iranian prerequisites, including the United States immediately lifting its blockade on Iran, unfreezing Iranian assets and ending the war on "all fronts."
