India and Canada are set to hold a fifth round of trade talks starting Oct. 5, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Sept. 22 that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would likely visit Canada in December, with media reports speculating that the two sides could sign a trade deal during the visit, Bloomberg reported on Sept. 23. Separately, New Delhi is reportedly finalizing a framework to launch formal trade negotiations with Mexico.
