South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said in an interview with the New York Times on Sept. 21 that there would be "significant value" in the United States easing sanctions on North Korea in return for a North Korean pause on nuclear weapons development. He added that such a trade-off could eventually lead Pyongyang to reduce the size of its arsenal.
