An official with South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that it was investigating an explosion that occurred within the Demilitarized Zone that divides the Korean Peninsula, Yonhap News Agency reported on Sept. 21. The explosion injured three military officers, two seriously, in what the JCS said was highly likely to have been a landmine incident.
