The U.S. State Department approved a $24.3 billion sale of 48 F-35A fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, though the sale remains subject to congressional review, Reuters reported on Sept. 17. The sale would include 49 F135 engines, secure communications, electronic warfare database support, software, training, simulators and logistics.
