Sweden's center-left opposition narrowly won 176 seats in the 349-seat Riksdag against 173 for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's right-wing bloc, the election authority said on Sept. 17 after completing the count of the Sept. 13 general election , Reuters reported the same day. Kristersson announced his resignation the same day, asking the speaker to begin forming a new government.
