South Africa's Electoral Court will hear on Sept. 15 an application by the left-leaning African National Congress, or ANC, disputing the Independent Electoral Commission's decision to reject its candidate lists in six municipalities for the upcoming Nov. 4 municipal election for allegedly failing to submit their candidacies on time, eNCA reported the same day. The ANC said technical glitches on the commission's website prevented the party from finalizing its submissions before the deadline, but the commission rejected this claim, noting that its internal investigations showed its electronic systems worked adequately.
