U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Sept. 10 confirmed that a U.S. Air Force C-17 had delivered more military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force in Lagos and Kainji, Niger State, under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement between the two countries, Premium Times reported Sept. 10. AFRICOM said the unspecified delivery is intended to support Nigerian-led counterterrorism operations and strengthen the U.S.-Nigeria strategic security partnership.
