South Africa's National Treasury has issued a request for proposal regarding the appointment of a transaction adviser to support a new independent Transmission System Operator , or TSO, that will be tasked with operating the country's power grid, Engineering News reported Sept. 7. The request stipulates that the TSO is due to be established by Dec. 31, 2027, and that it will have full control and ownership of South Africa's transmission network, which is currently in the hands of state-owned utilities Eskom.
