Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia could eventually move toward a peace settlement with Ukraine but that no concrete basis for a deal currently existed and Moscow's demands articulated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June 2024 remained unchanged, Interfax reported on Sept. 4. Peskov's remarks came as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were reportedly on their way to visit Moscow on Sept. 5 and Kyiv on Sept. 6.
