Israel's Supreme Court struck down 9-0 a controversial law passed by the Netanyahu government in July that banned the police and the Israel Defense Forces from arresting draft dodgers until after the Oct. 27 general election , ruling it was invalid on procedural grounds, The Times of Israel reported on Sept. 4. An 8-1 majority said the law was also unconstitutional on equality grounds.
