Senegal reached a staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund for a $2.2 billion, 36-month support package and announced its intent to restructure its non-CFA franc debt under the G20 Common Framework, Jeune Afrique reported on Sept. 1. In its press release, the IMF said Senegal must implement "decisive corrective actions to support the authorities' request for a waiver" in the country's debt-misreporting case before the executive board approves the agreement.
