The United States reportedly struck roughly 100 Iranian targets along the southern coast, including air defenses, missile and drone launchers, mine-laying capabilities, communications sites and two state-owned oil tankers, after renewed Iranian threats to shipping around the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reported on Sept. 1. Iran retaliated by launching missiles and drones against U.S. facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq, but most were intercepted and no U.S. casualties were initially reported.
