U.S. Central Command announced in a Sept. 1 X post that the U.S. military struck targets affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in response to alleged IRGC attacks against oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. military personnel in the region. Israeli media sources reported that these attacks were more expansive than those on Aug. 31 and targeted Iranian state-owned oil company tankers.
