Algeria dispatched four Su-30 fighter jets to Niger to support the junta after a failed coup attempt against Nigerien leader Abdourahamane Tchiani, Bloomberg reported on Aug. 30. Algeria, which rapidly condemned the coup, also dispatched a military transport Il-76 aircraft and an Il-78 refueling aircraft, as well as a diplomatic delegation to hold talks with Nigerien officials.
