Nigerian President Bola Tinubu announced that Nigerian governors had agreed to take action to reduce the cost of intra-state transport, notably by leveraging compressed natural gas, or CNG, Daily Trust reported on Aug. 27. Tinubu said a federal-state committee would be established to ensure the rollout of CNG results in lower transport fares from Oct. 1, adding that he had ordered the rollout of 500 more CNG refueling stations nationwide.
