The Department of Finance Canada on Aug. 25 announced expanded tariffs on CA$27.6 billion ($19.9 billion) worth of Canadian imports from the United States, effective Sept. 8. The department also announced a new $7.5 billion support package for Canadian workers and businesses affected by new U.S. tariffs , which went into effect on Aug. 22.
