Chad accused the Sudanese Armed Forces, or SAF, of conducting aerial strikes using drones and military aircraft on a column of vehicles more than 100 kilometers (60 miles) into its territory on Aug. 20, thereafter placing all military units on high alert, Sudan Tribune reported on Aug. 23. Meanwhile, the SAF claimed to have shot down a "hostile" drone over the Kurmuk area in southeastern Blue Nile state that it said was flying from Ethiopian territory.
