The governor of Mexico's Sinaloa state, Ruben Rocha Moya, requested a leave of absence for an indefinite period on Aug. 22, one day after returning to his position, El Universal reported the same day. Rocha had first stepped away from his role in May after U.S. federal prosecutors indicted him on drug-trafficking, bribery ​and cartel-protection charges.
