Germany is planning a 12 billion euro ($14 billion) program to develop and procure new long-range missiles to deter Russian aggression, Politico reported on Aug. 21, citing documents from the Defense Ministry. The proposal comprises four programs, with nearly 2 billion euros earmarked for shorter-range cruise missiles and more than 9 billion euros for joint long-range missile development with the United Kingdom.
