China and Indonesia agreed to deepen military ties and cooperation in minerals, energy and technology during talks in Jakarta between their foreign and defense ministers, Reuters reported on Aug. 21. The two countries will expand military exercises and officer exchanges and aim to open a joint factory producing ammunition, missiles and rockets with possible Chinese technology transfers in 2027.
