Zambian police confirmed that former Transport Minister and opposition-linked figure Mutotwe Kafwaya was killed during a security raid at a property linked to opposition leader Brian Mundubile in Lusaka on Aug. 14, BBC reported on Aug. 20. Meanwhile, Mundubile pledged to legally challenge the result of Zambia's Aug. 13 election -- which President Hakainde Hichilema won with roughly 60% of the vote against Mundubile's 38% -- citing alleged irregularities in the conduct, counting, transmission and declaration of results.
