Ukraine shipped just 500,000 tons of grain since the start of August, about one-fifth of its potential volume, after intensified Russian strikes suspended commercial traffic through the Odesa-area ports in late July, Reuters reported on Aug 20. Weekly shipments have fallen more than 90% since early July, leading Kyiv to cut its 2026-27 wheat export forecast from 17.6 million to 8.3 million tons.
