Following his reelection on Aug. 15, incumbent Osun state Gov. Ademola Adeleke reaffirmed his endorsement of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 and thanked him for supporting what he described as a free and fair election, Premium Times reported on Aug. 16. Adeleke, who ran under the Accord Party, defeated Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate for Tinubu's All Progressives Congress, or APC, with 511,067 votes to 444,815, winning 19 of Osun state's 30 local government areas.
