Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced plans for a commodity exchange to establish Indonesian reference prices by early 2027 as he presented a $230 billion budget targeting 6% growth and a 2.4% fiscal deficit, the Financial Times reported on Aug. 14. Subianto also said Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia, or DSI, a state commodity oversight company under sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia, had potentially identified $5 billion in unreported export proceeds but would monitor shipments while private companies continued conducting exports, retreating from his May plan to route coal, palm oil and ferroalloy sales through DSI.
