Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, will introduce a bill on Aug. 5 to defer prosecutions, trials and prison sentences against fighters linked to the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, who committed nonviolent actions, Bianet reported the same day. The National Security Council will oversee the implementation of the law after it has verified that the PKK has surrendered its weapons and disbanded.
