The International Monetary Fund completed reviews of Egypt's Extended Fund Facility and Resilience and Sustainability Facility, agreeing to disburse nearly $1.8 billion, Reuters reported on July 30. While the IMF review acknowledged Egypt's resilience to exogenous shocks stemming from the Iran war, it urged the country to accelerate privatization efforts and cautioned against its significant public debt levels and substantial financing needs.
