Uganda is convening a summit of officials from countries contributing troops to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia, or AUSSOM, on July 29-31, Garowe Online reported on July 29. The summit comes after the United States announced on July 1 that it would terminate its financial support for AUSSOM once its current mandate expires on Dec. 31, and said it would veto any U.N. logistical or operational support.
