A senior Taiwan foreign ministry official announced on July 29 that the state-owned CPC Corp had halted spot market purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Papua New Guinea, the Taipei Times reported. Lin added that Taiwan would decide whether to resume purchases or retaliate further based on how Papua New Guinea responded to this development.
