The Cockroach Janta Party youth group called off its nationwide protests after India's Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned amid criticism of leaks and other scandals linked to school exams in recent months, Reuters reported on July 25. The central government has since tapped Union Minister Pralhad Joshi as Pradhan's replacement and has begun considering reforms to the country's exam system, including creating a dedicated task force on July 27 and proposing stricter punishments for exam leakers on July 28.
