A large convoy of Russian military vehicles arriving from the Togolese port of Lome has crossed the Mali-Burkina Faso border and is headed to Bamako, Jeune Afrique reported on July 23. This marks the first time that Russia's paramilitary Africa Corps is reported to have secured the arrival of military equipment in Mali from Togo, with the convoy reportedly including three BMP-2 armored vehicles, eight BMP-3 armored vehicles, fourteen Tigr mine-resistant vehicles, four BTR-82 troop carriers, two anti-aircraft guns, as well as about 20 trucks and motorcycles.
