Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's Pakatan Harapan, or PH, bloc won just eight seats in Johor's state elections, down from 12, including just six for the Chinese Democratic Action Party, or DAP, within PH, down from 10, Reuters reported on July 11. Meanwhile, PH's coalition partner Barisan Nasional, or BN, won the remaining 48 out of 56 seats, up from 40, and the opposition bloc Perikatan Nasional, or PN, lost its three seats.
PH won just one seat in the Sabah state elections of November 2025, down from its previous nine, while DAP won none, down from six. BN also dropped from 12 to five, and PN won none, as local parties swept the elections.
