U.S.-Iran technical negotiations are set to continue despite both sides trading fire on July 8-9, Bloomberg reported on July 10, citing an unnamed U.S. official. Additionally, U.S. and Israeli officials denied Iranian claims that either country was involved in the July 9 evening attacks against sites in Bushehr and Konarak.

Reports that negotiations will continue come days after U.S. President Donald Trump cast doubt on the process on July 8, stating that "they're wasting their time," though he did not outright reject them. Pakistani and Qatari mediators have intensified diplomatic efforts to enable negotiations to continue. Meanwhile, funeral proceedings for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ended on July 9 in Mashhad, Iran, without an appearance from current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. His absence has fueled rumors that he is in poor condition after sustaining severe injuries in the February airstrike that killed his predecessor, Ali Khamenei.
