The United States and Iran conducted tit-for-tat attacks for the second consecutive day, during which the United States targeted 90 Iranian military sites, the Ogtay Khan railway bridge and the perimeter of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Reuters reported on July 9. In response to the U.S. attacks, Iran targeted U.S. military sites in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan.

According to Iran's Fars News, which has links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, July 8-9 U.S. strikes have killed at least 14 people and injured 78 others across five provinces. On July 8, U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States was preparing for additional strikes against Iran that evening and threatened to reimpose a blockade on Iranian ports and seize Kharg Island.
